Leonie & Natalie

The HighCountry Ladies Long Lunch was co-founded by Leonie Brassey and Natalie Fogarty-two passionate women with a shared vision to create something meaningful for their community. What started as a simple idea over coffee soon became a heartfelt annual tradition, bringing women together to connect, be inspired, and celebrate one another. With deep roots in the region and a love for storytelling, Leonie and Natalie continue to shape an event that uplifts, empowers, and brings joy to all who attend.lunch.

What Leonie Says

“Our son William as born with hypo plastic left heart syndrome in January 2005 and sadly passed away when he was 6 weeks old. He would be 18 now.

I love raising money for Heartkids and what better way than with a bunch of friends and a community that comes together for Cabarlah Ladies Day.” I have met so many people over my lifetime from all walks of life and I am so proud this year again to have some wonderful speakers attending and sharing their real life stories.

Having moved to St George in July 2020 and with the frustrations that COVID brought to our lives we hope that our 2023 event will bring ladies together for yet another fun filled day of, laughter and some incredible speakers from locally and around the globe.”

What Natalie Says

“I love to bring people together and to facilitate events. I love to celebrate Rural and Regional Women, hear Peoples Stories, make new Friends and rekindle old Friendships.

I love to support our local businesses, and I love to be apart of an event that raises funds for Farm Angels, a cause that resonates with me beacause I was raised on a farm.

The marketing, the media and event management gives me a buzz. I hope you are able to attend one of our uplifting, supportive and fun days with your friends. It will be one of your fondest memories ever.”

ALL Proceeds ARE Donated

2024 – present

2024 will see all proceeds generated from the The High Country Ladies Long Lunch donated to Farm Angels, supporting those affected by the challenges of rural life.

2016 – 2023

In the years gone by, The High Country Ladies Long Lunch (Formerly Cabarlah Ladies Day) included extensive fundraising for HeartKids Queensland. HeartKids Queensland provides support to children who are born with or acquire Heart Disease, many of whom undergo multiple life-saving heart surgeries. We are so proud of the funds and the awareness we have brought to our community by supporting Heart Kids.
